CreekFest, a River Day event*, offers the opportunity to acquaint Brandon township residents and those in neighboring townships with their water resources while enjoying a day of fun with their families and friends.

*Every year towns across America celebrate their rivers on River Day. Ortonville will celebrate our Kearsley Creek, Paint Creek, and the Clinton River.

CreekFest: Fun for Everybodyfisherman3

Initiated in 2003 by the North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy, and then adopted in 2006 by the Ortonville DDA, CreekFest offers residents a unique day for families and friends, jam-packed with fun activities for all ages, including… educational exhibits down by the Kearsley, tours and food put on by the Ortonville Historical Society at the Old Mill, a bounce house, Joe Rogers’ Bird of Prey Show with music by Evie Boss, the Minnow Race hosted by Jake Baker, and the Yacht Race put on by the Ortonville Rotary down on Kearsley Creek.

 CreekFest Educates Residents About Water Quality

“Most property owners have no idea that their individual actions might be having an adverse affect on the water in our creeks, and, eventually, the water in our wells. CreekFest, with its emphasis on Brandon’s water resources and family fun, is an unparalleled opportunity to reach local property owners with the message that their individual actions do make a difference.

We, the volunteers and sponsors, are proud to have collaborated with many, many organizations and sponsors in years past and and we’re always very interested in welcoming new folks to come be a part of what makes Ortonville fun! Saturday June 20th starts @ 10am until 5pm and then Sunday June 21st runs from 12pm until 6pm.

The Fire Department and Ortonville Chamber of Commerce will be putting on the Fireworks display behind the Middle School Saturday night.
