Ortonville CreekFest 2016
Our 13th Annual River Day Event*,
June 11th 10am – 4pm
CreekFest, a River Day event*, offers the opportunity to acquaint Brandon township residents and those in neighboring townships with their water resources while enjoying a day of fun with their families and friends.
*Every year towns across America celebrate their rivers on River Day. Ortonville will celebrate our Kearsley Creek, Paint Creek, and the Clinton River.
Initiated in 2003 by the North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy, and then adopted in 2006 by the Ortonville DDA, CreekFest offers residents a unique day for families and friends, jam-packed with fun activities for all ages, including… educational exhibits down by the Kearsley, tours and food put on by the Ortonville Historical Society at the Old Mill, Bird of Prey Show, and live music.
Just to name a few.
CreekFest Educates Residents About Water Quality
“Most property owners have no idea that their individual actions might be having an adverse affect on the water in our creeks, and, eventually, the water in our wells. CreekFest, with its emphasis on Brandon’s water resources and family fun, is an unparalleled opportunity to reach local property owners with the message that their individual actions do make a difference.
Attendees are encouraged to visit the Exhibition area “under the big-top” behind the Old Mill, next to our Cool Jewel and designated trout stream, Kearsley Creek.” Lois Robbins (Founder of CreekFest)
